Lennon Sisters in Indiana

As promised, the Indiana Fairground collection. Also, I've found the website that has all these pictures: Search Results - Collections Hosted by the Indiana State Library (oclc.org)

This picture doesn't seem like it's from the same time, but it was included in the collection.

Don't Break This Heart of Mine

Just uploaded a new video to Youtube. Haven't seen it anywhere else, it used to be on Youtube but the channel that had it got deleted I think. Kathy does a great solo part here.

Digging Through The Archives (part 5)

TV Radio Mirror October 1958. This issue covers Larry Dean and Dianne Lennon.

More info about Dianne and Dicks relationship.

Digging Through The Archives (part 4)

Yet another TV Radio Mirror Issue, or multiple this time, all from 1960. Featuring mostly Dianne Lennons engagement and marriage.

You can view the archives here: Internet Archive: Digital Library of Free & Borrowable Books, Movies, Music & Wayback Machine

Cover of September 1960 featuring the beautiful Dianne Lennon (soon Gass)

Lucky guy

Article goes into Dianne and Dicks relationship, how they met, their engagement, also contains a few quotes from Dianne Lennon.

A few extra photos from this issue:

November 1960

These articles go into the early history of the Lennon Sisters, before Lawrence Welk.

December 1960

Dianne explains her decision to retire from the Lennon Sisters to be a full-time wife and mother. She would do a few appearances here and there on Lawrence Welk before she rejoined her sisters in a more regular role a few years later.

Digging Through The Archives (part 3)

Another TV Radio Mirror Magazine featuring the Lennon Sisters. This one is from March 1957.

You can view the archives here: TV Radio Mirror : Free Texts : Free Download, Borrow and Streaming : Internet Archive

The writer touches on each Lennon Sister and gives a little insight into their personalities. Never knew how deeply religious Peggy was. Also, some information about their lives before and during the Lawrence Welk Show.

Another article in this issue mentions the Larry Dean and Dianne Lennon duo. They were never a "thing" despite what fans believed. Another magazine goes in more depth about Larry Dean and Dianne which I'll post later.

TV Radio Mirror LOVED the Lennon Sisters. There's such a vast amount of Lennon Sisters magazines, I won't be able to (nor do I want to) post them all, it would take hours. I'll post a few more then move on to other stuff. Check out the link to their archives if you want to see more.

Digging Through The Archives (part 2)

More stuff found from TV Radio Mirror Archives. Issue is from April 1958.

I have seen most of these covers before but it's still cool to see color photos from this time when you're so used to seeing them in black and white. Would have liked to see how their dresses looked in color on the Lawrence Welk Show. Also, Dianne's got some beautiful eyes, though this image does look a little over-saturated. Her eyes seem more a blue-gray in other pictures.

A little insight to the Lennons private/home life. Click to enlarge.

It's interesting how often the name Dianne is written "Diane" in these articles. Even many fans spell it this way. Wonder if there's a reason for that or if it's just a common mistake.

Digging Through The Archives (part 1)

Found these pictures and stories in the TV Radio Mirror archives. Images come from Jan. 1959 issue. Sorry if the articles are difficult to read. Save them or click to zoom in.

January 1959 Issue Cover

Here's some nice Lennon family Christmas photos. Also, the Lennon Sisters father, Bill Lennon, talks about his family, the Lennon Brothers, and how he has raised his daughters.

Continuation from previous 2 images. Full article.

Revamp

Going to "reset" this blog. Deleting most of the old posts. I'm starting a new system with more consistency. I know almost no one reads this blog but I still enjoy making posts.
